Lessons commence at 8.25am from Monday to Thursday and at 9am on Friday. Students are expected to be at their classroom and ready to engage in their lessons by this time. They should be arriving at school with adequate time to complete the health screening and temperature checking process, visit their lockers and arrive at their Period 1 classroom prior to 8.25 am (9am on Friday). Students who arrive late to lessons miss important aspects of the lesson introduction and disrupt the continuity of learning for their peers. From Monday, should a student arrive late to school without an acceptable reason, he will be issued a warning from the SAO and a record kept. On a second late arrival, without good reason, an email will be sent to their parents to notify them the late arrival. Should there be a reason that your son will be arriving late to school, please let Rebecca Mitchelson know via email or the Knox app. Should a student arrive late to school for a third time in a term without a valid reason, then he will be required to attend an afterschool reflection session. Thank you in advance for your support in ensuring that learning opportunities for all our students are maximised.

This week our community experienced a great deal of emotions as we come to terms with grief and what has occurred. As Team Leaders, we are incredibly proud of the way in which our cohort have wrapped themselves around each other to provide support during this difficult time. We encourage students to reflect on things for which they are grateful and to be kind to themselves.

Our Year Meeting this week was focussed around inclusivity. We asked the students what they thought this meant and it was wonderful to see many take the opportunity to share their personal insight into this topic with the Year Group. We are aware that this year has been incredibly disruptive, especially for Year 7 students who are navigating their transition into Senior School and discovering new friendships. We have reminded the boys that it is okay not to be best friends with everyone in the cohort but it is crucial that they treat everyone equally and with the same level of respect and consideration in which they wish to be treated.

It is great to see the boys enjoying the facilities that Knox offers during break time with their peers. We have reminded them of the Knox standard - it is important that they tidy up after themselves, wear their uniform with pride and respect the School rules. Such expectations exist to help guide our students in their behaviour as we prepare them for life beyond the school gates.

If you have any concerns about your son's wellbeing, please do not hesitate to contact the Team Leaders or his Mentor.

Another week has come and gone for the Class of 2025, and we are close to halfway through the term.

Some of the Science classes have been completing an Egg Drop Challenge, which has caused a lot of laughs and amusement for the boys. See the photo gallery below for some of the pictures.

There seems to be some confusion lately with the boys attending private Music/Pipes & Drums lessons. I want to remind the boys that on their way to their lessons, they need to come and let me know where they are going. At the conclusion of their lessons, they again need to come via my office to sign back into class. If this does not occur, many boys will find they have been marked absent from their academic class for unknown reasons.

Thank you to all parents for completing the necessary absent notifications on the Parent Lounge this week. The details surrounding the recent absences have been clear and concise, making it much easier to complete the daily absentee list.

Don't forget the Charity Food Drive that is happening until the end of Week 7. We are inviting Knox families to donate long-life milk, cereal, coffee, tea, cans of meat, vegetables, fruit and/or soup, cup of soup and dried fruit. No glass items, please.

School shoes for the Philippines
Later in the term, we will be seeking donations of school shoes. These shoes are life-changing to many poor children and importantly, allow many to attend school. More information to follow.

Term 3 concludes

Uniform Shop during COVID-19

In line with the current NSW Health guidelines and in order to mitigate the risks posed by COVID-19, the Uniform Shop staff have taken measures to ensure the safety of students, parents and other staff. External cleaners professionally clean all high-touch areas and surfaces every evening with a non-toxic, hospital grade disinfectant. During the day our staff spray down the changing rooms and service areas. Each room is equipped with hand sanitiser and wall-mounted hand sanitiser stations are at the entry.

Each room is limited to the number of people permitted and that is stated on the entrance to each room. Because of this, we have limited capacity in the changing rooms of only two rooms being operational and only one parent per child who is trying on uniform. As Term 4 is the changeover to summer uniform, can we please request that you take this into consideration. For the remainder of Term 3, we will also be sizing uniforms for Year 8 Cadets.

The options for purchasing uniform are as follows:

• Where possible, if you know the correct sizes to order, please order online through Flexischools.
• If you do require sizing, please make a note before coming what sizes your son is currently wearing.
• In Years 7-12, your son can come to the Uniform Shop at lunchtime. We can provide the sizes required and order online via Flexischools.

To avoid long waiting times towards the end of term, we would advise checking your son’s summer uniform now and, if you require new uniform, please order early. Orders are delivered to Knox Prep and Wahroonga Prep on Wednesday and Friday. Students in the Senior School are permitted to collect orders at lunchtime or after school. Thank you in advance for your patience and understanding.

Uniform Shop opening times: Monday through to Friday, 12.30-5pm.

Computer Club is back on at a new venue!

Computer Club is back up and running and will take place in R34 (Reid Building) on Wednesday afternoon from 3.30pm-5.30pm. The club is open to any student who needs some computing help with their projects in Years 7-8 Technology, IST, or Senior Computing subjects. Students may also use the equipment in this room for any project that they are currently working on, as long as they have completed relevant safety training.
